Altrusa International of Centre County

Altrusa is an international organization that provides community service, develops leadership in its members, fosters international understanding, and encourages friendship through a network of executives and professionals in many diverse fields of endeavor.

Altrusa International, Inc. is comprised of over 400 clubs worldwide, with a total membership of almost 11,000 in 19 countries. The clubs are grouped into fourteen different districts, each having a governor, board of directors and committee chairmen, whose purpose is to be a conduit between International and all clubs in that district. Altrusa International, Inc. of Centre County falls under the jurisdiction of District Two, which consists of 19 active clubs with a total membership of over 450.

Altrusa values its presence at the United Nations as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) as it enables us to be counted among those organizations dedicated to the service of mankind. To learn more about Altrusa International's link to the United Nations, click here.

Local Club Goals 2011-2013:

Increase membership: We want to have 50 or more members (by 5/2013) with more in their 30’s and 40’s while keeping our 50-60 + members
Implement Altrusa International, Inc. Marketing Campaign
Reevaluate Our Service Project Model
Make Business Meetings "Stickier" (such that members want to come and stay)
Define Leadership and Professional Development in terms of today’s needs
Make Certain We Have Fun with Purpose

The Club holds business/dinner meetings on the third Wednesday of each month in the State College area. If you would like to attend a meeting, please email Phyllis Corman at Cormanpj@aol.com at least five days before the scheduled meeting.
